In this section the International Journal of Public Opinion Research reviews articles that have recently been published in peer-refereed journals and which broadly relate to the field of public opinion. The intention is not to give an exhaustive overview of a given study but rather to alert our readers to interesting ideas and research in our field.


    Blinder, Scott B. (2007). Dissonance persists: Reproduction of racial attitudes among post–civil rights cohorts of White Americans. American Politics Research, 35, 299–335.
 
This article considers explanations for the attitudes towards racial issues of White Americans raised in an era of consensus on anti-racist social norms. Evidence from previous studies in the late 1980s and early 1990s suggested that cohorts then entering the electorate were more liberal on policy issues than their predecessors, but little different in their basic perceptions of racial inequalities in the USA.
